Read about hyper parenting here.
It seemed that helicopter parenting and hyper parenting could be used interchangeably. It was also a pretty widespread epidemic in my perspective.
Parenting should be enjoyable, and not a chore.
My favorite statement from the article was on dishing higher expectation so that the kids would rise to the occasion instead of giving low expectation where they could only sink further.
Well behaved kids were not by fluke. Of course, if the character of the kids were mild, it was easier to manage them. Spirited children could be tamed to understand the situation and act up lesser too. We wanted them to be manageable, but not lose their spirits too.
It could be done, and that depended on how strong the resolve was.
