I invited the boys to my office since I only had to work half day. My friend, who was working nearby, setup a playdate for our kids. It was an adventure for them to take the bus from Shenton Way to Suntec City. We went Polliwogs and boy, was it chaotic initially.
The boys played from 2-6pm. They should be very tired so I decided on dinner at Hoshino. I was surprised by the lack of queues.
Waiting for dinner
X threw a tantrum at dinner because he was sooooooo tired. Z was tired too. Both boys ended up snoozing at the restaurant but Z woke up in time for the Matcha Pancake Souffle. Since he was up and about, I asked if we should still head for Gardens by the Bay. I had thought to see the Yuletide exhibit by the night. We also wanted to try the OCBC Skywalk.
We were in time to catch the Musical Light Show. It was quite magical actually.
Our view while queuing for the Skywalk
Z was quite scared along the Skywalk though he was the one who bugged us to bring him up. With the strong winds, I had to admit that even my knees felt weak at some point.
It was 10pm when we left Gardens by the Bay. New Year Eve simply meant we could play late, stay up late and wake up later the next day. Z did ask about the throngs of cars and people we saw in the opposite traffic and I explained that he was too young to go. Later on, when we watched TV, he asked about the countdown program.
He was very excited about turning a year older. I was reminded of how I used to look forward to turning older too.
